The Alliance’s Inaugural Tech+Connect Channel Sales Empowerment Event Sells Out

Tech+Connect

RICHMOND, Va. – November 1, 2017 – The Alliance Partners, the channel partner industry organization that brings together agents, VARs, managed service providers, IT consultants and cloud specialists, has announced that its inaugural Tech+Connect event, taking place on Nov. 6-8 at La Cantera Resort in San Antonio, is sold out.

Tech+Connect is the first-ever channel sales empowerment event for emerging technologies. It is uniquely devoted to bringing together experienced channel sales professionals with providers of advanced technology solutions, for sales training around four developing areas: SD-WAN, cloud computing, cybersecurity and unified communications as-a-service (UCaaS).

“Tech+Connect is breaking the mold for channel events,” said Alliance CEO Bill Power. “We are pioneering an exciting, fun, intimate format that not only focuses exclusively on sales empowerment around the biggest future opportunities for the channel, but also redefines how providers and partners interact with each other.”

The show is open only to invited guests, including 150 carefully selected experienced channel sales professionals and a roster of next-gen providers.

“Our goal is to offer productive, meaningful engagement opportunities for the top channel sales professionals in the field to tap the expertise of leading providers of next-gen technologies,” Power said. “This isn’t a showcase for your typical, one-size-fits-all product pitches. Delegates can expect access to invaluable, real-world sales tools and techniques that they can take home and apply immediately to boost sales success and grow their practices.”

Agenda highlights include inventive sessions built around this core idea, including SD-WAN: What’s Your Pitch? and Mastering the Security Sale. Both feature speakers who will detail the anatomy of a successful real-life sale, from getting in the door to close. Similarly, Selling Cloud Compute…Even if It’s Not Your Core Focus, will feature a unique role-playing format to spotlight proven sales scenarios that demonstrate how agents can effectively sell this emerging technology. And UCaaS: Differentiate and Dominate will follow a “Shark Tank” format, where providers pitch a panel of five “channel sharks” on why they should invest their time and energy to learn how to sell their wares—which the channel partners then critique and judge.

The event will also feature a series of keynotes from top-tier speakers, including renown sales trainer and telecom entrepreneur Stu Kolinsky on navigating change, increasing productivity and loving what you do; Mark Hughes, former executive vice president of SunGard, on security sales; and Andra Hedden, CMO of Marketopia, on turning education into success by outlining a step-by-step process to turn your dreams into an actionable plan.

The full slate of providers attending includes: Bigleaf, CallTower, CenturyLink, Comcast Business, Consolidated Communications, Cyxtera, Effortless, EvolveIP, Imperva, inContact, Kore Wireless, Level 3, Masergy, NetFortris, Nextiva, Peak10, PGi, QTS, Rackspace, SimpleWAN, SingleHop, Sky Data Vault, Tata Communications, Telesystem, Verizon, Vonage and Zayo.

Based on attendees’ feedback (provided through a state-of-the-art event app), “Best in Class” trophies will be awarded to the provider who presents the highest-ranked sales presentation in each emerging technology category. In addition, a “Best in Show” trophy will be awarded to the overall highest-rated provider.

“I could not be more excited to welcome our attendees from both the channel and the next-gen provider community to San Antonio, bringing them together in one place for the sole purpose of enhancing relationships, sales and familiarity with the most exciting new technologies out there for the channel,” Power added. “This is going to be high energy, fun, intimate and above all, something entirely new in the realm of channel events.”
