CarrierSales Taps Austin Holverson for VP Marketing

Utah-based CarrierSales, the leading master agency for strategic communications and cloud deployments, has appointed Austin Holverson as vice president of marketing.

Holverson will be responsible for directing CarrierSales’ ongoing marketing and branding initiatives for its telecom, mobility, cloud and data businesses, leading the company’s communications outreach with suppliers, channel partners and customers. Well-known throughout the channel, Holverson brings a wealth of experience in building marketing teams and launching unique marketing programs.

“CarrierSales has some of the deepest roots in the master agency space, and I’m excited to add value to the brand they have built up over the last couple of decades,” Holverson said. “As the IT and telecom channels are converging, many masters are changing strategies and forgetting their partners in the process of this transition.”

He added, “CarrierSales has taken a different channel approach by continuing to grow and build with the partners and suppliers who have brought them success, while at the same time bringing on VARs and expanding the partner base. It’s refreshing to see CarrierSales take that approach and that alone aligns with who I am and what I represent. CarrierSales has been touted throughout the industry as the best-kept secret in telecom. I’m here to not let that be a secret anymore.”

In addition to crafting and telling the CarrierSales story, a top guiding initiative for 2015 will be to help make it easy for individual partners to develop and market their brands. Holverson will help CarrierSales partners learn to position for different verticals, work with social media and understand the importance of clearly defined advertising, graphic design and other messaging.

“Bringing Austin on board will provide a great value add to our partners marketing initiatives as well as our own,” said Richard Murray, president of CarrierSales. “As CarrierSales continues to take the initiative in rolling out cloud and converged services, we also want to help our partners navigate the changing sales landscape and how they represent their business to their customers.”

Before joining CarrierSales, Holverson was the director of marketing for Telesphere, which was recently gobbled up for $114 million by Vonage. And prior to that, Holverson oversaw and ran the marketing efforts for Telarus, also a master agent in Utah.

This marks the second big hire for CarrierSales over the last couple of months. Prior to extending the position to Holverson, Jon Heaps, the Incontact veteran, joined the team as the newly appointed channel chief for the organization.
